Lighthouse Hjalteyri (Hjalteyrarviti) in June 2008, a steel lattice tower, which has kept in Iceland and was not replaced by a stone tower how many others . The lighthouse is located at the western side of the Eyjafjörður in the village with the same name and it can be reached via the road 82. It is possible to go by car almost to the lighthouse. The lighthouse could be mounted, however, the railing of the platform seemed to us so ramshackle and infirm that we rather stood on firm ground.
