Lighthouse Ryvarden Fyr (Norway) - the most wide in Atlantic standing lighthouse of
Scandinavian mainland, visited in May 2009 (upper three pictures) and in September 2006, during the ferry
crossing from Bergen to Denmark.
Since automating of the lighthouse in 1984 the old buildings are a cultural centre and were called Gallery Ryvarden
or Ryvarden Cultural Lighthouse.
In November 1999 there was a big shipping accident near Ryvarden. 16 people lost their lifes. To memoriam to this
at the lighthouse a plaque was put up and on the way to the lighthouse there is a memorial stone and a plaque, on which
the names of the victims stand.
