"Starbord"-pier light Sassnitz in October 2001 in the light of the rising
autumn sun. It stands on the tip of the east pier, which is 1500 metres long. The port
is still important only for a few sightseeing ships and small fishing-boats. The great ferries
come and go to the new ferry port Mukran some kilometres to the south. It's green
pier light is visible from here.

Both the pier lights Sassnitz, seen from the port way. The red
"port" light stands on the short pier by the town harbour.
