new lighthouse Wangerooge

New lighthouse Wangerooge in December 2003. The red-white steel concrete tower, which has a wainscoting of aluminium, stands on 24 piles, which are 13 metres long and have a diameter of 50 cm. The building of the new lighthouse was necessary with the development of the Jade as a sea way for big tankers which unships in Wilhelmshaven. The lower picture shows a view from the east of the island of Spiekeroog into direction Wangerooge.
